This has hit me hard. My musical idol is gone. My teens were spent listening to chart bands,big popular stuff like Genesis,Bowie, and the like.
But The Fall transformed my tastes to the way out, neo - punk, new wave that I still adore today. I can't believe he's gone.
32 incredible studio albums. For the first time since my twenties I cant say " the next Fall album, must be coming soon"
Mark E Smith was The Fall, if all 60 previous band members that he sacked got together to play it wouldn't be The Fall.
Ex wife and group member Brix and her band The Extricated are good , so hopefully there's more from her and her group consisting of former Fall members. But it's a sad day.

Quite so, terrible. Recently bought Brix and the Extricated album, put a thread for them too on here, it contains reworking of a number of Fall tracks that she co-wrote plus seven new ones. It's pretty good, and 80's Fall members the Hanley brothers are involved. Worth checking out.
