Recently finished watching this for the first time. What an excellent series! Created by Shaun Cassidy, it's bizarre compelling and downright scary as well.
The Plot;
Sherriff Lucas Buck outwardly a charming law enforcer in the town of Trinity but in reality a rapist and murderer who has the town in his grip, backed up by supernatural powers.
His obsession is with a young boy called Caleb Temple, who he is the biological father of, after raping his mother in front of Merlyn , Caleb's sister.
The mother kills herself after the birth and Merlyn was traumatized by what she saw. In the pilot Lucas cold bloodedly murders her, removing Caleb's family leaving himself free to move in on the kid. However Caleb's cousin Gayle comes to town and battles to keep Lucas away from him aided unexpectedly by the ghost of Merlyn who pops up now and again to thwart Lucas . A show definitely deserving of more than one season.
