Just finished season 2.
All in all, I loved this season, and I can't wait to see what happens next year on this show.
Wow. Just, wow. So much is given to us in this season, and if you're just a casual television viewer, you aren't going to like it. I kept flipping from laughing to feeling pretty danged emotional. There are some very touching moments in here, and the humor is as good if not better than the first season. Sean Astin's character is really a great addition, and his death felt like a kick in the gut. The kids are even better in this season, and you really feel like they are the best of friends.
My only complaint was that Eleven doesn't get to interact with the boys until the last episode, but it's a small complaint since she gets a really interesting arc here. Her finding her mother and meeting her "sister" from the institution are very touching moments.

“Stranger Things” Third Season Confirmed
Netflix has officially given the order for a third season of its massive hit supernatural series “Stranger Things”.
Created by the Duffer Brothers, the 1980s nostalgia-filled horror series was an instant breakout when it debuted last year and the second season launched last month with Nielsen reporting the premiere was watched by 15.8 million U.S. viewers in the first three days of release.
The Duffer Brothers serve as executive producers and directors along with Shawn Levy on the show which received five Emmy wins. No word as to when the next season will premiere.

“Stranger Things” Showrunners To Step Back?
A new rumor has sprung up suggesting that “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer will be less involved in their supernatural Netflix TV series after the upcoming third season.
Moviefone reported this morning that the pair are looking to move on… sort of. The report indicates that their deal with Netflix requires the development of at least two more projects for the streaming giant, and that is pulling them away from their current gig.
Additionally, the pair have been taking meetings with Hollywood studio executives about helming another feature-length film following their first foray with the little-seen Alexander Skarsgard-led “Hidden”. If true, the Duffers would still oversee the writers’ room and maintain their executive producer credits but would not be serving as showrunners for the fourth season.
Collider has posted a follow-up to the report with their source denying the original one, saying the plan for now is for the Duffers to remain onboard in their usual capacity for the fourth season. In the past, the pair has indicated the series has about four or five seasons of story to tell in total.
The third season is targeting an April start of production ahead of a premiere on Netflix in early 2019.

“Stranger Things” Creators Sued Over Series
Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Netflix supernatural series sensation “Stranger Things,” are reportedly being sued for allegedly stealing the idea.
THR reports that Charlie Kessler is suing the Duffer brothers for breach of implied contract, claiming he pitched them his concept for a sci-fi story set near an abandoned military base during a party at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival.
Kessler adds the series is based on his short film “Montauk” and a feature film script titled “The Montauk Project” about the New York State town which in these works is home to “various urban legends, and paranormal and conspiracy theories.”
Kessler’s attorney argues the pitch at a party created “an implied-in-fact contract pursuant to well-established industry norms” – in other words a verbal contract. Kessler is seeking an injunction ordering the Duffers to stop using his concepts and to destroy all materials based on those concepts, as well as restitution, lost profits and punitive damages.
An attorney for the Duffer Brothers has responded to the lawsuit, telling Deadline that the claim is “completely meritless”. The attorney goes on to say: “He [Kessler] had no connection to the creation or development of ‘Stranger Things’. The Duffer Brothers have neither seen Mr. Kessler’s short film nor discussed any project with him. This is just an attempt to profit from other people’s creativity and hard work.”
The suit comes as renegotiations are underway with the show’s young cast members whom will each reportedly score pay raises to around twelve times that of their previous salaries.

Cary Elwes will be playing Mayor Kline, handsome, slick, and sleazy 1980s politician more concerned with his own image than his constituents. Busey will be playing Bruce, a journalist for The Hawkins Post with questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.
The pair join returnees Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, and Sadie Sink as Max.
The show’s third season is expected to premiere in early 2019.

Telltale Games Plan A “Stranger Things” Title
Telltale Games, the company behind the acclaimed narrative adventure episodic game titles based on “The Walking Dead,” “Game of Thrones,” “Jurassic Park,” “Batman,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Fables” franchises, is developing a similar title for Netflix’s “Stranger Things”.
The 80s-set series has already inspired books and board games, and now Telltale has confirmed to Mashable that they are developing a game based on ‘Stranger Things’ that we’ll publish to consoles and computers at a later date.
There are no specific details for the Stranger Things game yet. Netflix and BonusXP previously developed a free mobile “Stranger Things” game released in October last year.

Appearing at the at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles on Friday night, actor David Harbour says that Chevy Chase’s famed 1985 comedy “Fletch” will serve as a source of inspiration for the new episodes:
“The Duffers are so specific each year with the movies. And ‘Fletch’ is one movie we get to play around and have some fun with this season, which you wouldn’t expect from ‘Stranger Things’ and you wouldn’t expect from the Spielberg universe and you certainly wouldn’t expect from a darker season.”
Harbour also teased that the new season is: “so much of a departure and so much of a risk” compared to previous seasons.

Telltale Games Goes Into Majority Closure

Following on from yesterday’s news about the majority studio closure of Telltale Games and the firing of much of its staff, it has been confirmed that all the company’s upcoming projects have been scrapped including the planned “Stranger Things” games, “The Wolf Among Us 2” and even the final season of “The Walking Dead”.
The latter is the most interesting in that the first episode of a planned five for “The Walking Dead: The Final Season” has already been released with the second due next week. However, with the team that handles that game being laid off suddenly, the game will be left unfinished with the second episode launch to be the last.
What two dozen staff remain out of the hundreds that were employed will be working on the Minecraft Story Mode project for Netflix, matching the company’s statement it will fulfil its obligations to its board and partners. Social media has been filled with posts from people claiming to be former staffers at the Bay Area-based video game company are seeking work and alleging they did not receive severance pay.
