“Mr. Turner” helmer Mike Leigh has announced that his next project is “Peterloo” for Amazon Studios and Film4.

An ensemble of over 100 actors has been assembled for the film which deals with the infamous 1819 massacre at a peaceful pro-democracy rally at St. Peter’s Field in the UK – an incident in which many working class people were injured or killed.






It turns out that they are filming this not too far from me, so I will pop along to see this......

Never got to be an extra, sadly. The day I popped over was not a filming day, but have found these clips on youtube.


I used to actually live on "Steep Hill" in the mid eighties, for a few months, where they go storming down.

They also filmed the BBC's OLIVER TWIST there too in the 1980's.
