I never saw the final episode of that show! My girlfriend at the time insisted on taping it for me and we split up the weekend that I would have seen the last one!! I remember there was a four part series before it which had the same main character but it wasn't really a sci-fi concept!

Blake’s 7: The Best TV Show You Never Seen

Blake's 7 is one of the best sci-fi series but sadly most of the US have never seen it. It ran on the BBC from 1978-1981. Unlike other shows of it's time B7 was a on going story line, not just a new adventure each week. This is a look at it's 4 seasons!

Like Doctor Who? Watch This! (Blake's 7)

Blake's 7 is a must see for all Sci Fi fans!

Any B7 fans who have read Alan Stevens and Fiona Moore's book Liberation, may like to know that the authors have also written a similar analysis heavy book on The Prisoner. A good read.

Why do they always make it look so dark, snubby and mettalic?

I loved the simple, but majestic, white palace in space look of the original.

Should the Daleks Have Been in Blake's 7?

Terry Nation wanted to do it?

The production team politely, but firmly ignored that particular idea!

But should the Daleks have appeared in BLAKE'S 7?

Could it have worked?

And how exactly would it have played out, do you think?

Its a beautiful design but I don't see any need for a major reinterpretation of the Liberator. The original model was futuristic and interesting and if there was ever a remake or reimagining of Blake's 7, I wouldn't want to see anything other than minor cosmetic changes, and probably a higher level of detail for high definition viewing.

This special 2 DVD box set features unique archive interviews with Gareth Thomas (Blake), Jacqueline Pearce (Servalan), Jan Chappell (Cally), Stephen Greif (Travis), Peter Tuddenham (Zen, Orac & Slave) and VFX guru Mat Irvine! PLUS a brand-new Myth Makers with Michael Keating (Vila).

With the majority of the interviews shot on locations used in the programme, this fascinating set of interviews is a visual and factual treat! From country estates to quarries – you’ll get to see how and where the series was filmed! With ORAC, a sprinkling of Federation Troopers and teleportation bracelets too, there’s also a few laughs in store! But most importantly, as always, here are a set of revealing and in-depth interviews with the cast from one of Britain’s most beloved science fiction series!

With a new introduction by Interviewer Nicholas Briggs and Producer Keith Barnfather.

I remember buying a sci-fi mag with Brian Croucher and Stephen Grief on the cover and Croucher being interviewed about taking over the role of Travis! There was a pic of him sitting in a chair and pointing a blaster towards a television set which had Grief as Travis on it! Plus there snaps of a young Croucher modelling men's undies in there so as you can imagine it wasn't for the squeamish!

Was reading in that LIBERATION book that designer Ken Thornton worked on both the shows BLAKE'S 7 and BABYLON 5.

He says that the ship WHITE STAR - a living organic ship, as it happened - in B5 was a deliberate homage to the LIBERATOR.
