This according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

One of the most prevalent discussions in the days and months leading up to the release of Avengers: Infinity War is “Where’s Hawkeye?” The character, played by Jeremy Renner, is an expert archer and one of the original Avengers. However, he’s been in virtually none of the film’s marketing materials and his name isn’t on the poster. The omission has fans clamoring to find out why. Well, Feige and the film’s directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, are loving every second of it.

“I think it’s one of the best things that ever happened to Hawkeye,” Feige told io9. “We [at Marvel] love Hawkeye. There are big, big story things coming up for Hawkeye and Jeremy Renner is as strong an actor as anyone in the MCU and awesome as this character. But ‘The guy with the bow and arrow jokes’, right? There are a lot of ‘Guy with bow and arrow jokes.’ He even makes ‘Guy with a bow and arrow’ jokes in some of the movies. So I love that people go from ‘Oh, Hawkeye is just lucky to be there’ to ‘Oh where is he? He’s not there? Whats going to happen? We need Hawkeye. We want more Hawkeye.’ I love it. It’s the best.”

The Russos love it, too, but they have a very specific reason for not including him.

“As we were working on both films, we were thinking about story real estate,” Joe Russo told io9. “We had the luxury of cracking both scripts at the same time and we wanted to give each character, especially the original Avengers, their moments. It led us to certain choices, especially considering the events of Civil War where [Hawkeye’s] included in this group of insurgents and has to deal with the ramifications of siding against the U.S. government. So that led us to a very specific story with him that, as I’ve said before is a long play, not a short play. Audiences just need to be patient.”

We probably won’t have to be patient too much longer. Hawkeye is bound to appear in Avengers: Infinity War on April 27 or Avengers 4 next year.

“Avengers” Directors: Stay Offline To Avoid Spoilers

avengers-directors-stay-offline-to-avoid-spoilers-696x464.jpg

With the film to screen for the first time in a few hours, and with the global theatrical release kicking off with midnight screenings in Australia in about eighteen hours, the danger of spoilers from “Avengers: Infinity War” going online is about to get quite real.

As a result, the film’s directors sent out a social media post warning fans to stay off of social media, and even the internet in general, for the next few days to avoid any spoilers until you can see the film for yourself.

The pair has previously asked that when you see the film not to spoil it for others and could you maintain a level of secrecy so that all fans can have an equal experience when they watch it for the first time.

The blackout won’t have to last for long with “Avengers: Infinity War” opening

I'm amazed that, with all the characters and action scenes in this movie, they still managed to have a coherent plot and some quiet character moments. Absolutely worth the money. The only downside is that we've got a whole year to wait for the next part.

Pratt Talks “Infinity War” Star Lord Criticism

In the wake of the release of “Avengers: Infinity War,” fans of the movie have picked it apart as per usual with stern criticism coming down on the behaviour of some of the characters.

“AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR” SPOILERS AHEAD

At several points in the narrative, the heroes seem to briefly have the upper hand – only for their emotional state to get in the way of either duty or logic and causing them to hesitate or miss – ultimately condemning the universe.

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and his inability to aim for Thanos’ arm or head came under fire, but the most targeted has been Chris Pratt’s Star Lord – the distraught and cocky space adventurer letting his emotion about Gamora cloud his thinking. His actions allow Thanos to break free from a stranglehold by several other Avengers who nearly were able to rip the Infinity Gauntlet off the Mad Titan’s arm.

Pratt himself disagrees with the backlash, defending his character’s actions to Radio Times saying:

“Look – the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a thing. And also, I blame Thanos, OK? Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame? Clearly, I’m very sensitive about this.”

Whether Star Lord’s lapse in judgement will be redeemed in the next film, we’ll have to wait until May next year to find out.

I really liked this. The Marvel movies have left me feeling ... they're really well made and they entertain but I feel little excitement. The Spiderman reboot wasn't very good. Infinity War was really good and the Guardians made it great, they were exactly what the movie needed. And I really have no idea where they go from here. I can speculate, we know the easy way would be turn back time, but I'm not sure if it will happen ... and that's exciting.

Russos Respond To Top “Avengers” Complaint

Disney and Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” should pass the $2 billion gross worldwide mark anytime now, confirming that many fans of the film are not only liking it but seeing it again and again. However, the film has also been subject to several criticisms – mostly over the ending.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Specifically there has been complaints that the film offered little stakes as, due to marketing timetables, we already know some of those who turned to ash will be back in future installments in their own respective series. Now the film’s directors, the Russo brothers, say in a new interview with The Huffington Post that what you think you know may not be case after all. Anthony Russo said:

“Here’s the thing, I think it’s important to remember anything is possible in the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe]. Just because there’s a sequel on the books doesn’t mean… people become accustomed to time moving linearly in the MCU. That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. There’s a lot of very inventive ways of where the story can go from here.”

His brother Joe added: “Don’t expect everything to move forward in a linear fashion in the Marvel universe”. There’s reportedly a four year gap between “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and “Avengers: Infinity War” which could be exploited, while “Black Panther 2” and “Spider-Man Homecoming 2” could take alternative paths – though Marvel has already said the latter is set after the events of ‘Infinity War’.
