Following their first foray with Amazon’s “Comrade Detective,” acclaimed film distributor A24 is getting back into television.

The company is teaming up with “Portlandia” co-creators Fred Armisen and Jonathan Krisel along with John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker for the six-episode original comedy series “Moonbase 8”.

The story follows three subpar astronauts (Armisen, Heidecker and Reilly) living in NASA’s Moon Base Simulator in the desert with high hopes of being the next chosen to travel through to the moon.

Krisel will direct the project which A24 is independently financing. All four will executive produce alongside Dave Kneebone. The first season is currently in production and once episodes are completed, the studio will look to partner with a network or streaming service.
