A true renaissance man. He, Cushing and Lee were the last of the gentleman horror actors, or actors of any genre for that matter. Although having an obvious association with horror films, Price wrote cookbooks, did lectures on art and was a wine connoisseur. He did many great movies outside of the genre, and even when he did low rent films, he sold the part and made you enjoy it. There really isn't enough good that can be said of the man.

~ Beautifully said indeed. I couldn't agree more. Vincent Price is truly of one classic horrors icon and a true gentleman. I love all of his horror films & still watch them. He also did some non-horror movies too and one of my favorites is 'Laura'-1944 along with Gene Tierny. Vincent Price had a unique and lovely voice. Loved his performances & his narration too.

I know little to nothing about the man but I grew up watching his horror movies and many are still among my favorites.

Dr.Phibes double is great too!

Time Express was an American fantasy TV series, broadcast April–May 1979 on CBS and later syndicated. The series was created by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts who had both previously been involved in the creation of Charlie's Angels. The series ran for four episodes before being cancelled.

The series is in anthology format, similar to other dramatic television series on American networks of the time such as The Love Boatand Fantasy Island. Each episode consists of two tales featuring guest actors.[1]

The show stars the husband and wife team of Vincent Price and Coral Browne, playing the roles of Jason and Margaret Winters, the sophisticated hosts of the Time Express, a train that takes its passengers back in time to relive a crucial point in their lives. The train is staffed by James Reynolds as the conductor R.J. Walker; Woodrow Parfrey as the ticket clerk; and William Phipps as Engineer Callahan, who collectively appear in the first three episodes.

I want to see these four episodes now....

Theatre of Blood is a favourite of mine. Follows the Phibes formula of grandiose revenge killings carried out by Price's character in various disguises.

I love THEATRE OF BLOOD.

What an amazing cast - and a really good script too! Any attempts to remake this would be doomed to absolute failure in comparison.

So no doubt they will try!

And this is, of course, the film where Vincent met his wife to be, Coral Browne. Her first glimpse of him was when he was sat as a gravedigger during Arthur Lowe's funeral.

I loved seeing Diana Rigg in her short skirt and white boots too!
