I had no idea these existed! To the LCS!

Fright Night is one of the best 80s horror films, and one of the best vampire films. William Ragsdale plays Charlie Brewster, a teenager with an unhealthy obsession with old horror films, particularly the films of Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowell), who specialized in vampire hunting. His career at an end, Vincent is now a horror host, where he often shows his own movies. He has a best friend called "Evil" Ed (Stephen Geoffreys, who went on to do gay porn - and I only know that because of imdb) and a girlfriend, Amy (Amanda Bearse). When a new neighbor, Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon) moves next door to Charlie, he sees some strange things that culminate in him seeing Jerry murder a young woman. Realizing his new neighbor is a vampire, he goes to Peter for help. What unfolds is pure horror cheese, and every minute is absolutely wonderful. A must see movie for any vampire fan.

A fun bit of trivia, as learned from the Monster Party podcast. Director Tom Holland had originally wanted Vincent Price for the Peter Vincent role (hence the name). However, the character was someone who was supposed to be at the end of their career, and somewhat downtrodden, and after meeting Price, he realized he would feel bad about placing him in a role where viewers might get that impression of him. Plus, by this point, Price had pretty moved past horror and was doing more varied work.

Stephen Geoffreys Singing Carry a Tune on Broadway

Stephen Geoffreys (Fright Night, 976-Evil) was nominated for a 1985 Tony Award and won the World Theatre Award the same year for his performance in The Human Comedy. Here is an excerpt of him singing from the show.
