I would love to see as many actors from TOS and TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT appear as possible.

And I suspect that it will get to that point too.

What would be nice is if some are written and played ambiguously - as if they could be their TREK character who has wound up in this alternative universe of the Orville. Jonathan Frakes as "Will" or "Tom" for instance; the local crazy hermit who insists he worked on a starship once, found on some backwater planet.:emoji_alien:

Fans could blog away to their heart's content, pondering: "Was That RIker?" etc.

The Orville is an American science fiction comedy-drama[1][2][3] series created by and starring Seth MacFarlane that premiered on Sunday, September 10, 2017. New episodes aired Thursdays on Fox during the 2017–18 season.[5][6] MacFarlane stars as Ed Mercer, an officer in the Planetary Union's line of exploratory space vessels whose career took a downturn following his divorce, and who is given the titular ship as his first command, only to discover that his ex-wife, Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki), has been assigned to be his First Officer. Inspired by the television series Star Trek, the series tells the story of Mercer, Grayson, and the crew of the Orville as they embark on various diplomatic and exploratory missions.[7]

On November 2, 2017, Fox renewed the series for a second season,[8] which is expected to premiere late in the 2018–19 season

Well, I started to watch episode one, got as far as his cheating whore of an ex-wife showing up on his new command and switched off. I've got no interest in wasting any further time on this piece of shit.

If he doesn't have the balls to throw her off the ship, resign his commission or even just report the bitch for her continued attempts at stalking him and ruining his life and career, I've got no time for him.

And if she really wants to make things better, I suggest she steps out the nearest airlock without a spacesuit.

There was an episode that kind of explained her infidelity. The alien squirts fluid that makes everybody fall in love with him, even the guys. It’s a few episodes in though.

You know what, I just found a “Seth MacFarlane” following ME, and to follow him back I have to get clearance from him. What’s that about? Why would he follow me? Which one is the real Seth MacFarlane?

“The Orville” S2 Opens Up On S1 Average

Seth MacFarlane’s Fox sci-fi dramedy “The Orville” premiered on Sunday to a 1.5 rating/5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers in Live+Same Day.

That’s up 56% in total viewers over the first season finale, and 67% in adults 18-49 for the same episode, but down from the 8.6 million viewers and 2.8 rating in adults 18-49 that tuned into the series premiere last year.

Even so, it’s a noted improvement on its first season averages. The show will relocate this week to its regular Thursday 9pm time slot later this week.

I am in a house with 7 other people including two vey noisy little kids who want to watch nothing but cartoons, so I’m not seeing this episode until they leave. And I’m recording Doctor Who tomorrow.
