This was my first real introduction to Doctor Who. I'd seen a few episodes here and there in the past but this was the first time (prompted by a school friend who was a fanatic) that I had committed to sitting down and watching every episode. I was hooked from the start and a fan for life by the end.

My first time was THE SEA DEVILS. I was baffled when Jon changed at the end of SPIDERS and wondered what on Earth was going on.

Then I acquired these four books, somehow or other....








And was a devoted fan from that point on........

I remember liking the handshake at the end of episode 3, but being kinda disappointed at the regeneration scene myself, save for the flashbacks.

What could they do though? Tom had been so towering in the role that maybe any departure for him was bound to be kinda disappointing? Or could they have done better?
