Lee Daniels In Talks For Billy Holiday Film
Lee Daniels (“The Butler,” “The Paperboy”) is reportedly in talks to direct the Billie Holiday biopic “Billie” with R&B singer Andra Day the top choice for the title role and Lakeith Stanfield for the male role.
Pulitzer-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks is penning the script about the legendary jazz singer whose career spanned three decades before her passing in 1959. Her iconic performing style has influenced and inspired artists and jazz musicians for decades to come.
Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum are producing the project which aims to begin shooting before the end of the year.
