The best Dracula film ever made?

And was the romantic angle given a much needed emphasis?

Or was that a storytelling mistake? Should Dracula be a romantic figure?

And what of the rest of the film?

    And Keanu's accent?

and then there was that song of course...

    Nooooo!

No Whitby = no credible Dracula. My problem remains that the title suggested extra-fidelity to the novel, but fudged it badly.

Delightfully bonkers in its own right nevertheless - the whole timely blood/AIDS subtext was interesting + (as you hint) some deranged accents to savour - but as I recall grumbling to the friend I saw it with (male and straight) , he got 3 voluptuous lady vampires to drool over, I got Keanu Reeve's left armpit. NO FAIR!

What a total waste of Hopkins too.
