Such as My Beautiful Launderette, East is East, Anita and Me and Bride and Prejudice? Great films, and that's without even starting on Merchant and Ivory's wonderful catalogue.

I'm eminently unqualified to add much intelligent comment to any discussion on the topic - I saw Gurinder Chadha's first feature Bhaji on the Beach when it first came out, and it's always held a special place in my heart, and Jacques Audiard's Dheepan* portrayed a startlingly different side of the stranger-in-a-strange-land immigrant experience coin, but there's not much else I've seen in two-plus decades that fell between those films.

*yeah, yeah, I know Sri Lanka and India are different countries, but I gotta find something vaguely relevant to your thread :emoji_wink:
