Saban Films has picked up U.S. distribution rights to three films from Millennium Media, most notably the latest remake of George Romero’s 1985 third feature in his zombie series “Day of the Dead”.

Sophie Skelton, Johnathon Schaech, and Marcos Vanco star in the new ‘Day’ about a group of military personnel, scientists and survivalists who dwell in an underground bunker as they seek to find a cure in a world overrun by zombies. In the process, they accidentally unleash a Pandora’s box of horror.

Mark Tonderai| and Lars Jacobson have penned the new take. The property was previously remade a decade ago with Ving Rhames, Mena Suvari, Nick Cannon and Ian McNeice starring.

Another film in the deal is “Bullet Head” (aka. “Unchained”) which follows a group of career criminals (including Antonio Banderas, John Malkovich and Adrien Brody) who trap themselves in a warehouse with the law closing in. Intertwining narratives show off how the crooks each came to be where they are.

The last film is “Acts of Vengeance” which follows a fast-talking lawyer who transforms his body and takes a vow of silence, not to be broken until he finds out who killed his wife and daughter and has his revenge. Antonio Banderas, Karl Urban, Robert Forster, and Paz Vega star.

All three films are set to be released in the fourth quarter of this year, with specific dates to be announced soon.
