Your thoughts on this movie....

A young elephant, whose oversized ears enable him to fly, helps save a struggling circus. But when the circus plans a new venture, Dumbo and his friends discover dark secrets beneath its shiny veneer.

Back to the original movie.....

Production is officially underway on Walt Disney Studios’ live-action reimagining of their 1941 animated classic “Dumbo”.

Newcomers Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins lead a cast that includes Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Roshan Seth, DeObia Oparei, Sharon Rooney and Douglas Reith.

The story begins with Holt Farrier (Farrell), a former circus star who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner Max Medici (DeVito) enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughing stock in an already struggling circus.

But when Holt’s children (Parker and Hobbins) discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Keaton) and an aerial artist named Colette Marchant (Green) swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star.

“Dumbo” is slated for release on March 29th 2019.

BTW do you think they will have the crows in the live action movie?

There are no talking animals in this adaptation as in the 1941 animated film; instead the story is revised to include more human characters, focusing more so on their perspective. Thus major animal characters from the original film such as Timothy Q Mouse and the Crows make no appearance.

So is this going to follow Dumbos journey, the ringmaster and his kids, or a mix of both?

Storyline
Holt was once a circus star, but he went off to war and when he returned it had terribly altered him. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) hires him to take care of Dumbo, a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him the laughing stock of the struggling circus troupe. But when Holt's children discover that Dumbo can fly, silver-tongued entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), and aerial artist Colette Marchant (Eva Green) swoop in to make the little elephant a star.

Scary!

I was at the dentist the other day and the hygienist was gushing about all these new Disney movies. If her hands had not been in my mouth I would have asked her if she saw that freaky looking Dumbo yet.
