Really love this episode, so many great scenes. Basil's awkwardness towards Mrs Penoir is a joy especially when he ends up on top of her in the lobby. Also when Alan tries to get a razor is classical Basil misunderstanding.
Alan "do you know if there's a chemist still open?"
Basil " I suppose you think this is funny do you? I know what people like you get up to it's disgusting. No the chemists are all closed , bit of a blow I imagine"
Alan ," what are you talking about, I just want some batteries "
Basil " I don't believe it....disgusting! "
Alan " for my electric razor, see I haven't shaved today"
Basil " well that's what I meant when I said it was disgusting, sometimes I don't shave and that's DISGUSTING too, I'll have a razor sent up, goodnight!" Class.
The ending is great too as the lights go up in the lobby and everyone sees Basil lying on top of Manuel, who he thought was a burglar so he clobbered him with a frying pan. Fantastic.
