Watiti & Reynolds Reunite In “Free Guy”
They co-starred in “Green Lantern” together, now filmmaker Taika Waititi and actor Ryan Reynolds are re-teaming for the Shawn Levy-directed action comedy “Free Guy” at 20th Century Fox and 21 Laps Entertainment.
Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn penned the script which centers on a background video game character who realizes he’s living in a game. With the help of the avatar of the game’s designer he tries to prevent the makers of the game from shutting down his world.
Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”), Joe Kerry (“Stranger Things”), Lil Rel (“Get Out”) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (“Brockmire”) co-star. Greg Berlanti, Adam Kolbrenner and Sarah Schechter are producing.
