First Promo: Kit Harington In “Gunpowder”
The BBC has premiered the first teaser trailer for “Gunpowder,” the upcoming three-part mini-series dubbed a fast-paced period thriller about the famed ‘Gunpowder Plot’.
“Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington plays one of his own ancestors, Robert Catesby who masterminded the 17th-century conspiracy to blow up the British House of Lords in an attempt to assassinate King James I. The occasion is remembered with Guy Fawkes Day on November 5th.
“Downton Abbey” actor Tom Cullen plays Guy Fawkes and Mark Gatiss plays spymaster Robert Cecil in the story while Liv Tyler, Peter Mullan, Edward Holcroft, Shaun Dooley, Robert Emms and Derek Riddell co-star.
J. Blakeson (“The Disappearance of Alice Creed”) helms from a script by Ronan Bennett (“Public Enemies”). The mini-series airs this Fall.
