Jonny Watts has her future planned out: she'll be a veterinarian who writes mystery stories in her spare time. Her graduate studies are going well -- until her internet research leads her into an obsession with Sheridan Hume, a brilliant but eccentric female private investigator. To Jonny's astonishment, Sheridan takes her on as a kind of Watson to her Holmes. Together they investigate the theft of an unbeatable silver race car and the murder of the genius who designed its engine. But a deeper mystery unfolds for them: can each help the other to fully realize their potential, to become the extraordinary women they are?

This doesn't sound bad, per se, but it certainly doesn't scream originality. Also, the Watson character is a veterinarian? That seems to have missed the point of John Watson, Mother Fucking Army Doctor (someone started that moniker on imdb, and it stuck with me).
