The first photo has been released from director Scott Cooper’s upcoming western “Hostiles” starring Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, Wes Studi, Jesse Plemons, Ben Foster and Timothee Chalamet. The film is slated to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month.

Set in 1892, Bale plays an Army captain who reluctantly agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back home from New Mexico to the grasslands of Montana. Along with a young widow, they must overcome the punishing landscape and vicious outliers on the journey.

Teaser Trailer: Christian Bale In “Hostiles”






In the wake of the gritty western drama’s premiere at the Telluride Film Festival where it became a hot property in much demand, the producers of “Black Mass” and “Out of the Furnace” director Scott Cooper’s new film “Hostiles” have released the movie’s first trailer.

Christian Bale plays a battle-hardened US Cavalry officer ordered to accompany a Cheyenne war chief (Wes Studi) and his family back to their tribal lands in Montana.

Setting out through dangerous territory, much of it inhabited by hostile tribes, the small band of soldiers and Cheyenne navigate the beautiful prairies and wilds of the west, while facing a series of challenges.

Rosamund Pike, Adam Beach, Ben Foster, Jesse Plemons, Rory Cochrane and Q’orianka Kilcher co-star.
