Your thoughts on this movie.....

A depressed uncle is asked to take care of his teenage nephew after the boy's father dies.

I just returned from seeing this at the cinema and found it fairly disappointing.

It was a slice of life drama, but seemed very ponderous and seemed to be trying to be deep for the sake of it.

The performances were all absolutely excellent, but the film around them seemed determined to be as slow and depressing as it could possibly aim for.

There was a powerful truthfulness to it.

It is highly possible that I might watch this again on another day and see it in a different light, but I will conclude by saying that I think it is one of those "quieter" movies that you have to be in the right mood for, or else you are counting the minutes until it ends.

So, this is not a damning review, since I will give it a second chance one day.

Has anybody else seen it? And am I missing something about the film at the moment?

Or did you have a similar experience to mine.
