First Look: Margot Robbie As Queen Elizabeth I
Donning a frizzy ginger wig, heavy makeup and serious gown, Australian actress and bombshell Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Focus”) has been photographed on the set of “Mary Queen of Scots” in her role as Queen Elizabeth the First.
Crowned Queen of Scotland in the 16th century, Mary (Saoirse Ronan) was forced to abdicate her throne and soon thereafter was executed at age 18 for her alleged involvement with an assassination attempt on the life of her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I (Robbie).
Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, and Gemma Chan co-star in the project from “Elizabeth” and “The Tudors” creator Michael Hirst who penned the script while Josie Rourke is directing. Production is now underway.
