Maze Runner: The Death Cure
(also known simply as The Death Cure) is an upcoming American dystopian science-fiction actionthriller film directed by Wes Ball, based on The Death Cure, the final book in The Maze Runner trilogy, written by James Dashner, with a screenplay by T.S. Nowlin. It is the sequel to the 2015 film Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and it is the third and final installment in the Maze Runner film series.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure was originally set to be released on February 17, 2017, in the United States by 20th Century Fox. On May 27, 2016, 20th Century Fox rescheduled the film for January 12, 2018, allowing time for Dylan O'Brien to fully recover from his injuries sustained on-set.

I read the books a while ago and, although the first one was OK (might have enjoyed it more if I was 14), it turned into a real mess by the end.

After spending the best part of three books torturing and killing those with immunity to the disease, they decide there's no cure and send them off to restart the human race in peace (which they could have done at the beginning of the story).

First Trailer: “Maze Runner: The Death Cure”

Unlike so many other young adult franchises which somewhat overstay their welcome by splitting the final book into a two-part film adaptation, those involved in “The Maze Runner” have made it clear from the start – this is only going to be a trilogy.

They’re now fulfilling that promise with “Maze Runner: The Death Cure,” the third and final instalment in the series. A serious on-set accident involving its leading man Dylan O’Brien led to a delay of production – but it finally is on the way back and will now hit cinemas on February 9th.

Today the first trailer for the new film arrives, show Thomas leading his group of escaped Gladers on their final and most dangerous mission yet – to break into the legendary Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all.
