Krisel To Direct A “Sesame Street” Movie
Jonathan Krisel (“Baskets,” “Portlandia”) is set to direct a live-action Sesame Street musical currently in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures and Sesame Workshop.
Shawn Levy (“Stranger Things”) and Michael Aguilar (“Kidding”) are producing the film which Krisel will direct from a script by Chris Galletta. Mike Rosolio wrote the first draft.
Levy has been working on the movie for years back when it was set up at Fox. The film will be a big screen take on the educational series that premiered in 1969 on PBS and features a combination of live-action and puppetry with iconic characters like Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, and Elmo.
