Filming On “Bond 25” Quietly Underway?

    filming-on-bond-25-quietly-underway-696x464.jpg

Though official production doesn’t kick off until next month, it appears the next Bond film has already quietly begun some filming with two different outlets both indicating that director Cary Fukunaga and Daniel Craig are currently in Norway in order to shoot one of the movie’s key sequences.

Separate sources for both The Daily Express and MI6-HQ indicate that sets have been built on the location and cameras got rolling today on the sequence which utilizes a frozen lake in the country.

The film’s screenplay isn’t finished, but the lake will be melting in the coming weeks as the weather heats up so the decision was made to film this sequence ahead of the main shoot which will otherwise start too late to complete it.

It’s expected that a press conference announced the film’s full cast and title will take place in the next week or two at Pinewood Studios. The film itself is slated to open April 8th 2020.

“Bond 25” Set Pics Reveal Masked Villain

    more-details-emerge-about-boyles-bond-25-696x464.jpg

As previously reported, the next James Bond film doesn’t begin its main shoot for a few weeks yet. However, due to timing in regards to a key location and seasonal change, some early filming has had to take place in Norway this week to capture an action scene on a thawing frozen lake.

Now, footage and photos from the shoot have popped up online and show what appears to be a chase scene with a mysterious wounded villain in a damaged white mask chasing a young girl through the snow. Neither Daniel Craig or rumored villain Rami Malek has been seen on set as yet so neither are in the photos or video.

According to reports from those in attendance, the girl acted like she fell through the ice with the masked man then seen shooting through the ice as if to try to hit her. There’s rumor the leaked scene could be a flashback of a young Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) but that’s only speculation at this point.

At the current time there’s little to nothing known about the film’s plot or characters beyond regularly scheduled returnees like Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes coming back. Fiennes confirmed a week ago to The Telegraph he hasn’t read the script yet as they’re still working on it.

Cary Fukunaga helms the film which is set to hit theaters on April 8th 2020.

I do hope Blofeld is back as it seems a waste otherwise! The character disappeared in 1971 and has been hinted at for years just for them to drop him now? I don't buy that!

“Bond 25” To Be Partly Shot In IMAX

    bond-25-to-be-partly-shot-in-imax-696x464.jpg

The next James Bond film, which kicked off a small bit of filming this week in Norway ahead of the main shoot, is set to be the first 007 entry to be shot in large-format.

Oscar-winning cinematographer Linus Sandgren (“First Man,” “La La Land”) will use both Panavision and IMAX 65mm cameras on the project with Indiewire reporting that the majority of the film will be shot primarily in Panavision with IMAX being reserved for action sequences – including the current shoot on a remote frozen lake near Oslo where IMAX cameras have been spotted.

The Cary Fukunaga-directed project is now going by the working title “Eclipse” and sees Daniel Craig return in his fifth and final outing as the character. Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes co-star while both Rami Malek and Billy Magnussen have been rumored to be linked to roles.

“Bond 25” joins two other high-profile movies shot in IMAX in 2020 – Chris Nolan’s untitled new film and Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman 1984”. The cinematographer on Nolan’s film, Hoyte van Hoytema, shot the previous Bond film “Spectre”.

To date each of the Craig Bond films has utilised a different cinematographer, the most noted being Roger Deakins whose work on framing and lighting “Skyfall” is considered something of a masterclass in the art and a masterpiece of how to shoot a film digitally.

MGM and Annapurna Pictures will release the next Bond film on April 8th 2020.

“Bond 25” Sees 007 Return To Jamaica

    bond-25-returns-007-to-jamaica-696x464.jpg

Iconic British super spy James Bond is heading back to Jamaica, returning to the site of where much of the very first Bond film “Dr. No” was set.

Metro reports that the fifth and final outing for Daniel Craig as the famed MI6 spy will utilise not just its regular Pinewood Studios home in the UK but also make major use of locations in Jamaica along with some scenes set in Italy and Greece.

The new 007 film will enter production next month, though some filming has already taken place in Norway this past week to take advantage of weather conditions. “Bond 25,” which is expected to get a title announcement next month, will be in cinemas April 8th 2020.

    This all sounds very interesting...

Apart from the fact that story in which Doctor Guntram Shatterhand - AKA Ernst Stavro Blofeld - appears is YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, which is set entirely in Japan. :emoji_angry:

Hey they need to drag another few million out of the fans just to keep any interest in the franchise going! Long gone are the days of Sean Connery! Wish they'd mention something about how when bond gets injured he changes into someone else...ooops! I mean is it done by some sort of biological repair or simply an elixir of genetic repairing? Needs to be addressed before we lose interest!

I never understood how a slightly younger Judi Dench worked with Brosnan's Bond for a movie or three, then a slightly older Judi met Daniel Craig's Bond for the first time ever in a later film. :emoji_confused:

Yes, why keep her on as M when it was supposed to be a reboot? And why does Bond not know Blofeld in Spectre when he's defeated him time and time again back in the sixties and seventies? Plus the Blofeld of the early films was definitely more cunning!

And there was no fucking family relationship!

I'm so fucking sick and tired of this constant dumbing down and trying to retcon new angles and relationships into works of fiction that simply aren't needed...

Besides, would the SIS really send one of their agents out to deal with a problem caused by a relative of his? Conflict of interest?

I never liked that Blofeld/Oberman or whatever they called him angle! Blofeld is Blofeld plain and simple! Bald headed with a scar or whatever plastic surgery he prefers or that of Dikko Henderson!

When he first appeared, he looked rather like Gru from DESPICABLE ME... Or should that be the other way around?

Then he lost weight and his ear lobes and grew long blond hair.

However, he was always six foot four and loomed over Bond, who was just six foot.

Waller-Bridge To Polish “Bond 25” Script

    waller-bridge-to-polish-bond-25-script-696x464.jpg

Though some scenes for the new James Bond film have already been filmed in Norway, the project’s main shoot has yet to begin and the clock is ticking. Part of the reason only second unit photography has been filming ties to the script which is still reportedly not finished.

At last report, “Contagion” scribe Scott Z. Burns had done a re-write of the script and now The Observer reports that Daniel Craig has reportedly specifically requested that “Killing Eve” and “Fleabag” creator and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge come in to ‘liven up’ the script.

Waller-Bridge, who is probably best known in the U.S. for her work as droid L3-37 in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” is also an acclaimed actor, artist, writer and playwright. Craig wants her to bring her “wit and quirkiness” to the screenplay with their source saying the pair met and discussed: “how to improve the script of Bond 25, which the 007 actor felt needed some ‘polishing,’ by introducing more humor and the offbeat style of writing she is best known for.”

The hiring makes sense due to her work on BBC America’s critical and commercial hit “Killing Eve,” which effortlessly jumps between serious espionage spy thriller and witty, quirky, biting black comedy in not just episodes but individual scenes – and does so without ever feeling tonally jarring.

Cary Fukunaga is directing the film with Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Lea Seydoux all expected to reprise their previous roles, while Rami Malek is said to play the villain. The project will shoot in Italy, Norway and Jamaica along with its homebase at Pinewood Studios in the UK.
