Review Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)

This seemed, to me, to be just an average episode stretched out to feature length.
Oh my, yes. The wife and I went to see this one in the theatre, and I walked out afterward and regretted going. She actually really liked it, and kept trying to explain why it was good (again, she hates STAR TREK).

Nostalgia Critic did a crossover review of this one with Linkara, and Linkara, an admitted Trekkie, had much to deride this film for, most notably the idea that Picard was so gung ho and not relocating these natives, even though several times during the television series, he was in favor of relocating others in the name of the Federation.

It's definitely just a regurgitated episode script (and a chance to let Stewart show off what great shape he's in).

I actually like it. I'd rather watch this than Generations or Nemesis.

I enjoyed it. It's still one of my favourites. But I do agree that it did feel a bit like a big budget extended episode. But, for me personally, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
