Following the U.S. trailer the other week, a new U.K. preview is out for George Clooney’s crime revenge tale “Suburbicon” from Paramount Pictures.

Penned by the Coen brothers, the story is set in the 1950s and deals with a home invasion which leads to cover-ups, betrayal, blackmail, and revenge. Curiously this still plays the film like a comedy, despite Clooney’s on the record objections to that description, but it does seem to capture a tone closer to what the director has described.

Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac star in the film which opens October 27th.

Following surprisingly tepid but still positive reviews at Venice, a new trailer has hit for the George Clooney directed dark noir “Suburbicon” starring Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac.

Penned by Joel and Ethan Coen, the story follows an average man in love with his wife’s sister who plan and stage a home invasion to get rid of the wife. Things go awry, leading to a tragey, while a meddling insurance investigator causes all sorts of problems.

Early reviews indicated the film is like a ‘Coens karaoke’ with a subplot about a violent racist attack on some neighbours simply not gelling with the rest of the narrative. The film plays Toronto tonight
its press screening in Venice last week and plays Toronto tonight and opens everywhere October 27th.
