The Ink Factory, the team behind the acclaimed John le Carre adaptations “The Night Manager” and the currently airing “The Little Drummer Girl,” are set to produce a TV reboot of the 1980s anthology series “Roald Dahl’s Tales of the Unexpected”.

The ITV original series was produced by Anglia Television and was based on of the author’s short stories, each ending with a twist. Unlike other anthology shows of the time like “The Twilight Zone” or “The Outer Limits,” Dahl’s series wasn’t really sci-fi and stuck mainly to reality.

The project has several writers already onboard including Claire Wilson, Tom Basden and Ella Hickson. The original anthology adaptation will be effectively unconnected to the previous ITV show despite having the same name.
