Your thoughts on this show........

A new take on the original show in which four thousand four hundred people who vanished over the years, some from the early 20th century and others as recently as a few weeks prior, all suddenly re-appear with none having aged a day or having any memory of where they’ve been.

Dubbed ‘The 4400’, they must grapple with their return to a changed and hostile world and also contend with the reality that they’ve come back altered in ways that none of them yet understand.

The CW Plans A Reboot Of “The 4400”

The CW is set to develop a reboot of USA Network’s “The 4400″ series with the help of CBS Television Studios who also created the original which starred Joel Gretsch, Jacqueline McKenzie and Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.

Rene Echevarria and Scott Peters created the original series which ran for four seasons from 2004-2007 and began when four thousand four hundred people who vanished over the years, some from the early 20th century and others as recently as a few weeks prior, all suddenly re-appear with none having aged a day or having any memory of where they’ve been.

Dubbed ‘The 4400’, they must grapple with their return to a changed and hostile world and also contend with the reality that they’ve come back altered in ways that none of them yet understand. The truth about their abduction is revealed at the end of the first season (it’s not aliens) with subsequent seasons dealing with elements of superpowers.

Taylor Elmore (“Justified”) and Craig Sweeny (“Limitless”) are handling the new take and will co-write the pilot for the reboot and executive produce. Elmore will serve as showrunner should the project move forward.

The CW has opted not to order “The L.A. Complex” or the reboots of “The 4400” or “Good Christian Bitches” to pilot this year reports Deadline. The projects are not dead however with all three being ‘rolled’ so as to have another shot at potentially moving forward next year.

With “The 4400,” the script could not be finished and delivered on time while the showrunner’s commitments to CBS’ “The Code” also interfered with their availability. The “Good Christian Bitches” redo will be starting over from scratch as the network is high on the property but not on the current version.

The CW has six pilots in the works that could potentially become new series this Fall, including the aforementioned “The Lost Boys” along with “Batwoman,” “Jane the Novella,” “Nancy Drew” and the “Riverdale” spin-off “Katy Keene”.
