Lady Gaga Wanted For “Little Mermaid”
Lady Gaga has reportedly been approached by Disney Pictures about taking on the role of the villainess Ursula in their live-action adaptation of their 1989 animated feature “The Little Mermaid”.
Gaga is coming off rave reviews for her performance in Bradley Cooper’s “A Star is Born” which is now in theaters and she has been sought for several projects with one report suggesting she was offered a role in “Birds of Prey” but turned it down.
This rumor follows on from ones in August suggesting Zendaya was reportedly offered the lead role of Ariel. Disney is currently working on live action adaptations of “Aladdin,” “The Lion King” and” Mulan” for the cinema and “Lady and the Tramp” for streaming.
Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda will team up to compose the music for the film and production is expected to begin filming in Puerto Rico and Cape Town Africa shortly.
