The Old Dark House is a 1932 American pre-Code horror comedy film directed by James Whale. The film is based on the novel Benighted (1927) by J. B. Priestley.[1][2] The ensemble cast includes Boris Karloff, Melvyn Douglas, Gloria Stuart, Charles Laughton, Raymond Massey and Ernest Thesiger.

- Elspeth Dudgeon as Sir Roderick Femm: the 102-year-old father of Horace, Rebecca and Saul (billed as "John Dudgeon")
