The Terror
Josef Kubota Wladyka (“Narcos,” “Outcast”) has been set to direct the ten-part second season of AMC’s historical horror anthology series “The Terror”. The second season will take place during World War II, in a Japanese-American internment camp haunted by an uncanny specter, and won’t be based on a novel like the first one was. The new season will air in 2019.

George Takei Joins “The Terror” Season 2

AMC has announced that beloved “Star Trek” actor and activist George Takei has officially joined the ten-episode second season of the acclaimed horror anthology series “The Terror”.

Takei will not only play a series regular role but also serve as a consultant on the new season which will be set during World War II and center on an uncanny specter that menaces a Japanese-American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific.

Kiki Sukezane (“Lost In Space”), Miki Ishikawa (“9-1-1”), Shingo Usami (“Unbroken”), and Naoko Mori (“Everest”) have also joined the cast which also stars Derek Milo. The next season is expected to begin production in Vancouver in January ahead of airing in late 2019.

The first season was the number two new drama on cable for the current television season and a top ten drama on ad-supported cable overall, well-received by critics and audiences alike.

AMC has set an August 12th premiere date for the ten-episode second season of its horror anthology series “The Terror”. Additionally, the first batch of photos from the new episodes has arrived........

“The Terror: Infamy” is set during World War II and follows a series of bizarre deaths that haunt a Japanese-American community, and a young man’s journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity responsible. Derek Mio, Kiki Sukezane, Cristina Rodlo, Shingo Usami, Naoko Mori, Miki Ishikawa and the one and only George Takei star.

Alexander Woo and Max Borenstein executive produce with Woo serving as showrunner. Ridley Scott, Dan Simmons, David W. Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert and Guymon Casady also executive produce.

The first season, based on the novel by Dan Simmons, dealt with the famed story of the HMS Terror and HMS Erebus in their attempts to discover the Northwest Passage in 1847. The first season was the number two new drama on cable for the current television season, and one of the most critically acclaimed new shows of last year.

Like the first season, the second will be distributed internationally via Amazon Prime Video.
