A UFO lands undetected on the moon, the occupant gets out and fires a bullet at moonbase, cracking a window, causing a blowout of pressure and killing one SHADO personnel.
Paul Foster realises the alien is still on the moon and leads a team to bring him in. SHADO interceptors attack the UFO destroying it, but Foster out on the surface is separated from his team, he fell twisting his ankle and his space suit radio is kaput. The UFO explodes and Foster is assumed to have been caught in the blast, and is presumed dead.
Foster is alone on the surface, air running out, ....but not alone! A gun is prodded into his back, the alien didn't get back to his craft, lucky for him, but now the two of them are stranded, and need to work together to survive.
