    Controversial Jack the Ripper

Doc, thanks for the posts! Absolutely wonderful! And yes, according to Comic Book Realm, there were only two issues. Which is weird, because I thought that the title had run longer.

    Review The Plague Dogs (1982)

I've never heard of this. I must seek it out.

    Controversial Jack the Ripper

Co-creator of The Falcon, one of the coolest heroes ever. He also did the entire run of Tomb of Dracula. Colan had such a great style, and different from Kirby and Ditko. Another one you don't hear enough about unless you're talking to other diehards.

    Controversial Jack the Ripper

Gil Kane doesn't get nearly enough love. He gets mentioned a lot by diehard comic book fans, but he gets overlooked by too many.

Review Twice Upon a Time (2017)

I suddenly have this vision of the Beeb pulling a Colin on Jodie, but they hire a 6'6" black man for the next Doctor who will have to wear a blonde wig to do the regeneration.

Okay, now I have to know what Archie's problem with horror comics is, dammit.

Fun The Last Movie That You Watched?

The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) - A supernatural tale of a small town morgue owner and his son having to do an autopsy on the body of a young woman with no name, no apparent connection to the town, or signs of how she died. Overall, effectively creepy, an interesting premise as to how the woman...

    Fun One Hit Wonders

What is really funny is that the bass player looks a hell of a lot like I did at the time this song came out.

    Fun One Hit Wonders

While that is, unfortunately, the song that they're known for, this is the first song I heard from them (on Headbanger's Ball, of all places), and thought it was much more deserving of being a hit. Alas, everyone wanted the bee girl.

Fun The Last Movie That You Watched?

The Mule (2018) - Based on a true story of a WWII vet who became the world's oldest drug mule in his 80s, Clint Eastwood directs and stars as a horticulturalist down on his luck and estranged from his family. He is approached to be a driver, and eventually becomes a valuable asset to the cartel...

Review What Book Are You Reading?

I just started reading Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. I'm only about 80 pages into it, but so far, it's pretty damned good. I'm glad I watched the movie first, because I have the feeling I would have immediately hated it, whereas now, I can still view it as a good movie, just not the same as...

Fun The Last Movie That You Watched?

Ip Man 3 (2015) - Donnie Yen returns as the legendary Wing Chun instructor Ip Man in this installment in the saga. This time, Master Ip has settled into retirement, living in Hong Kong with his wife and youngest son. There are three different plots going on, involving an American businessman...

    Review Little Women (2019)

I honestly had no idea what this book was actually about. My son was in the musical version of this last fall, and it was pretty good. At some point, I will have to actually read the book, so I can get the story without high school kids mumbling through dialogue and catchy Broadway tunes.

    News Ratched (2020)

Yeah, I have to agree. Sometimes, we really don't need any backstory. I didn't need to know, nor care, that Michael Myers was raised in an abusive, redneck home, and his stepdad pushed his already fragile psyche. I didn't need to know that Fred Kruger's mom was raped by a thousand asylum...

    Poll Mental Health

The logging industry, William Randolph Hurst, and racism towards Mexicans. That's where it all begins. And it's bullshit.

    Review Lost Girls (2020)

    Sounds very interesting.

    Poll Mental Health

As anyone else, I can point to a handful of people who do, indeed, use it as a crutch, or over exaggerate their problems. But on the whole, mental health issues need to be addressed and taken seriously. Much more needs to be done to help those who need it. I, myself, while never professionally...

Review Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

I just rewatched this on Netflix, and I still love it. As with every SW movie, it has flaws, but damn if it's not entertaining. I really do see a young Han when I see Ehrenreich's performance.

Review The Star Wars Radio Dramas: RETURN OF THE JEDI

I honestly have never heard the radio version of ROTJ, mostly because it didn't come out till 1996. I do plan on eventually buying all of them, just to have to listen on car trips or for background noise.

Review The Star Wars Radio Dramas: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

Another great listening experience. Again, the material is expanded upon, and some has been retconned, but for a fan, it's a fun time.
