    Fun The Trek Franchise!

Because they are only concerned with making money on nostalgia. They aren't the least bit concerned about making anything new or creative, they're simply in it for the money. Which is why they shun anyone who is willing to make something that would appease fans or further the universe they have...

    Review Houdini

I have been obsessed with Houdini for years. He came from humble beginnings and made himself one of the most famous men ever. It's truly a tragedy that something like a burst appendix is what took him down, being in a time when something as simple as penicillin hadn't been discovered yet. I...

    Fun Film & TV Soundtracks

Glass' score is brilliant, but I watched the movie once with the score, and hated it. The music is very good, but the movie works better mostly soundless. It enhances the gothic atmosphere of the film, whereas the score, I think, takes away from it.

I have never heard of the other two, but I remember seeing The Devil Bat years ago. Not very memorable, but Lugosi makes it worth a watch. Good fun b-movie.

    Review BLAKE'S 7: THE WEB - Episode 05

A fetus with an umbilical cord attached to its penis! Actors wearing cabbages! Candy floss and balloons! Won't someone think of the children? This is a really good episode of the show, because it gives us a deeper look into Blake and Avon's personalities. Blake is fully convinced that the...

    Review Series 11 (2018)

I'm immediately reminded of Olivia Munn's costume for X-Men: Apocalypse. While impractical in the comics, it's par for the course. In the film, it just looks silly (even if she looks hot in it).

    Fun The Birth of IMDF!

We have a guy at work who has been putting varieties of Mountain Dew flavors in the soda machine at work, so the other day I ended up trying MD Ice. I was disappointed, only because I have to be in the mood for lemon lime soda. If I had been in a Sprite mood, I'm certain I would have liked it...

    Fun The STAR WARS Franchise

I know that, honestly, not everyone who hated The Last Jedi is a misogynist, but the most vocal haters of the film are. And unfortunately, everyone who dislikes it keep getting lumped together because of that. Still, most of the other viewers who hated it don't take a stand to distinguish...

News JAMES BOND: No Time to Die (2021)

I absolutely love Nolan's work, but honestly, I'm kind of glad he's passing on it. It would be a visually stunning piece, though.

    Fun The Birth of IMDF!

What are you talking about, Willis? Mountain Dew is like nectar sent down from Olympus. And it should have enough caffeine in it to cause heart failure in lab rats. That's the only way I get through the day without falling asleep where I stand. I like original, Throwback (the same, but made...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: TIME SQUAD - Episode 04

The "aliens found in stasis" plotline? That is so overdone. As a television snob, I certainly don't approve of something so cliche. Actually, the main plot of Blake, Avon and Vila teleporting to the surface to destroy the communications center is really good, but not enough time is spent on it...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: CYGNUS ALPHA - Episode 03

A really good episode, even if it drags some on the plot. While I always enjoy seeing the impeccable Brian Blessed chew scenery, it does bring the pacing down. However, the subplot is still very good, if not executed in the best way. I liked what they did with a group of survivors who are all...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: SPACE FALL - Episode 02

I forgot how much I love Kerr Avon. He is the perfect companion for Blake. While Blake is still naive enough to have these lofty goals, Avon knows who he is and what he wants - enough money to be left alone. And he is also an enigma. We're told he's merely intelligent, with little in the way of...

    Fun Open Thread

Never apologize for venting, first and foremost. Second, I'm so very happy your niece is safe. It's scary enough hearing about school shootings, having kids myself, but having a loved one near a situation like that...I can't even begin to imagine what you all went through. This makes 28...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: THE WAY BACK - Episode 01

It's been a big thing here for a few decades now, and while I don't mind it, it gives you a feature film feeds you everything you need to know - characters, backstory, motivations, locations, etc. While I like a little mystery on the journey, most Americans need to know everything about the show...
