Bullman a tough grisly cop first appeared in the 70's series The XYY Man as support to Stephen Yardley's 'Spider' Scott', a cat burglar involved in various adventures. Don Henderson's Sgt Bullman then given his own series that ran for four series, "Strangers", four cops from different parts of the U.K. brought together to tackle crime in a northern city. As strangers they could penetrate where the local force could not. Finally the character Bullman was given his own series simply titled Bullman.
