Don't really know what to make of this episode.Firstly a newbie to the show should watch this before " A Question Of Priorities" even though it was always transmitted later. Why?
Because this episode is a flashback, the whole lot, and one thread involves Straker's marriage and will it fall apart..watch QOP first and you already know the answer.
Joy and merriment at SHADO HQ as an operative announces he'll soon be a dad, leads Straker to reminisce about his own life at the time of his first born. SHADO was just a pipedream, but alien attacks had started. Everything fans wanted to know about the origins of SHADO are revealed.
How did Straker get the job?
Where did Freeman come from?
The building of the HQ, the recruitment of those dolly moonbase girls, all played out to a background of Straker's disintegrating marriage.
