Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren...

If that cast list is accurate, this film is starting to sound interesting.

It'll still be bullshit, but at least it'll be high grade, thoroughly enjoyable bullshit - I hope.

Whereas I'm inclined to ask if they're going to be making the F & WTF until everyone in it, along with everyone who has ever seen any of them, are all dead and buried!

Yeah, I know... snotty little Norwegian! :emoji_baby:

I don't really know much about this film series. I think I've only seen the first thirty or so instalments, so I've got quite a lot of catching up to do. :emoji_cry:

Always my friend! And hey, anyone with the patience and fortitude to sit through the first 30 of anything is either virtually god-like or one toe away from crazy! And I'd know about "the crazy", trust me... I really do!

Ok with John Simm coming back as the Master aleagadly playing the part before he regenerated into Missy possibly with her in the same episodes. What if Missy is not in fact the Master and it was all a con.

Now I realise this would annoy some fans who like that timelords can switch gender but there is other evidence that they can so it wouldn't matter if Missy wasn't the Master

I am also pleased to see the return of the cyberman from mondas and that they are not just cybusmen with the badge removed hopefully they won't act like the borg and scream delete.

I hadn't heard this news, but here's how I really want it to play out. She wasn't Missy/The Master, but The Rani, and the two were setting The Doctor up for some...really bad thing.

I'm also hella excited about the old school Cybermen coming back. But I would still like to see the eighties version come back, with David Banks as Cyberleader.

I doubt that Moffat will back down from it being the Master, although I wish he would. But I doubt that his ego will let him back down. I think that Michelle Gomez would work nicely as the Rani.

I love the fact that the Mondosian Cybermen are returning, but am cynical enough to think that they will mess them up in some way, with the Doctor and Bill etc not being afraid of them, so why should the audience. Making quips about their cloth faces or their silly voices.. Just undermining the jeopardy, which the newer show often does.

Witness......

Zero fear on the part of Bill. She would prefer to stand there and ask inane questions and make quips when a killing machine is nearby.

And if she - the audience identification figure - is not scared. then why should the audience be?

I fear that we will get more of the same thrown at the Mondosian Cybermen.

Taken from the official DOCTOR WHO website at the BBC...

John Simm will return as the Master to battle the Doctor, new companion Bill Potts and Nardole in the forthcoming series of DOCTOR WHO.

John Simm says: “I can confirm that it’s true, thanks to the power of time travel I’m back. It’s always a pleasure to work with this great team of people and I can’t wait for you all to see what the Master gets up to in the next series. “

Steven Moffat, writer and executive producer, says: "Nothing stays secret for long on DOCTOR WHO but you'll have to wait a little bit longer to see exactly what the Master is up to and how he makes his return to face the Doctor. It’s been a huge pleasure to have fan favourites John Simm and Michelle Gomez face to face in the same role! It’s not often you get to see a solo personality clash."

John Simm was last seen as the Master on New Year’s Day 2010. Viewers will have to wait to see exactly when and how the Master will return to the new series, which starts on Saturday 15 April at 1920 hours on BBC One.

As previously announced, DOCTOR WHO series 10 will also star Michelle Gomez as Missy – a later regeneration of the Master. Other returning foes include the Daleks, the Ice Warriors and – returning for the first time in over 50 years – the Mondasian Cybermen.

I'm personally hoping that he's come back to reveal that she was actually the Rani all the time...
If she turns out to be the Rani I'll want to know what changed her from amoral scientist to someone who spends her time plotting to destroy the Doctor.

Perhaps it is revenge for his past interference in her amoral scientific experiments.

Besides, a different incarnation doesn't just look different, but can also have a different personality. Just look at the difference between William Hartnell and Jon Pertwee. Or Roger Delgado and John Simm.

I would love it to be The Rani too, but this would require Moffat backing down from his previous stance. This would be an admission of making a mistake. I can't see Moffat admitting that Missy as the Master was a mistake.

face to face in the same role!
And his above comment suggests that he still considers Missy to be The Master.

I too wish it were otherwise.
