“Hook” Gets A 4K Remaster & 11 Cut Scenes
Though critics considered it one of his worst directorial efforts, Steven Spielberg’s 1991 feature “Hook” was a beloved film for a generation of kids who are now adults. For them comes news today that will excite – the live-action “Peter Pan” sequel is coming to 4K Ultra HD.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has reportedly fully restored the film in 4K from the original camera negative for the Dustin Hoffman and Robin Williams-starrer. Spielberg himself has signed off on an approval on the 4K High Dynamic Range master which also boasts Dolby Atmos audio.
Even more exciting, the new disc includes eleven never-before-seen deleted scenes, but specifics about them haven’t yet been released. “Hook” comes to 4K Ultra HD and on Digital in 4K with HDR on October 9th.
