    Review Green Book (2018)

Somebody told me this is a good movie - it’s playing at an art theater 40 minutes from me. It’s probably best enjoyed, though, without knowing too much of what went behind the scenes. :emoji_worried:

    Controversial Trump

From a friend: Pinocchio, Snow White and Superman are out for a stroll in town one day. As they walk, they come across a sign: CONTEST FOR THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD "I am entering," said Snow White. After half an hour she comes out and they ask her, "Well, how did you do?"...

    Christian Bale is awesome. https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/07/politics/christian-bale-satan-dick-cheney-vice/index.html

    Review Doctor Who (2005)

I hate to say it, but I think she’s getting the award because she’s a woman in an iconic role. And I think there’s a degree of ageism in the dismissal of Capaldi also.

This is what I hate about social media. Facebook is OK because only your friends can see your posts, and even among them you can choose which ones see your post and which ones don’t. Twitter is more problematic in that regard, in that trolls can follow you and antagonize you. I posted something...

Hooray for Bohemian Rhapsody! Take that, all you critics (especially Michael Phillips)!

    Review Jacob's Ladder (2019)

*sigh* yet another unnecessary remake. No original ideas - the suits want guaranteed blockbusters, nothing creative allowed. It’s capitalism run amok.

    Review Series 12

You know, ant-mac, Graham (a straight white male) was the most developed companion and a very valuable one. In fact he’s the best character so far.

    Review Series 12

For the love of all that’s good and holy, NO MORE ROSE. I wouldn’t mind seeing Jack Harkness though. And a series-wide arc - done RIGHT, mind you - could be fun. They definitely don’t do enough with Yaz. As much as I like Ryan and Graham (especially Graham) if they were going to jettison any...

Jesus fucking Christ. Some people take everything too seriously. This doesn’t sound like such a great community.

    Review Aladdin (2019)

Those are all beautiful pictures and costumes. But like an earlier poster said, they couldn’t have filmed in a desert? Even “Life of Brian” was filmed in Tunisia. A comedy looks more authentic than this movie. I miss the days when a movie was really a movie, with a real set, and not just CGI...

    Review Resolution (2019)

OH! I forgot about UNIT!! When they mentioned it I thought I’d see Kate Lethbridge-Stewart again - but they just used it as an opportunity to bash Brexit. I was wondering if they would ever comment on that.

    Review Dumbo (2019)

Scary! I was at the dentist the other day and the hygienist was gushing about all these new Disney movies. If her hands had not been in my mouth I would have asked her if she saw that freaky looking Dumbo yet.

Fun The Best Music Thread in the Universe!

There was a song I heard through the open window of a car once or twice. I googled every description of it I could think of and asked my friends on Facebook. It’s really hard to properly describe or find anything to do with music unless you know the lyrics - I wish I could help you.

    Controversial Fast Food Hygiene

Yes, I defintely would. Having worked a bit serving food in various places, there are very strict hygiene practices you’re supposed to follow. This was clearly a no-no.

    Review Titanic (1997)

The movie goes by fast but isn’t exceptional filmmaking, story or characterwise. Of course the sets and CGI are wonderful, as are the costumes. Therefore I find it puzzling that Chicago Tribune Michael Phillips could give Titanic four stars but Bohemian Rhapsody two, and further list movies to...
