    Review Harry O (1973)

Another well loved seventies American detective show. David Janssen was terrific as was Anthony Zerbre. I read that Janssen was so upset at the shows cancellation that he vowed never to work in tv again.

    Review Banacek (1972)

Before the "A" team, George Peppard was that solver of paradoxes, sleuth and dispenser of Polish proverbs- Banacek. .

    Review Father Dear Father

This is a memory from my youth. A father's angst about his two daughters comedy. Patrick Cargill made this watchable. He was brilliant as the harassed father trying to keep up with his daughters exploits and of course coming out worst.

    Review Two's Company

Seventies comedy at its best . Elaine Strich and Donald Sinden in superb form as Madam and Butler, a bit dated but still enjoyable. Loved this as a teenager and am enjoying them now.

    Review Danger Man/Secret Agent (1960)

Before The Prisoner McGoohan was Danger Man, agent John Drake. Is it heresy to prefer this? McGoohan was epic in this. 39 twenty five minute episodes then 50 odd fifty minute episodes. Worth getting a hold of.

Review The Detectives ; Powell and Carrot

This series is fairly new for me, never saw it originally. I'm going through series 3 at present. It's very good. Robert Powell is terrific and i never knew Jasper Carrot could act so well. George Sewell ,Freeman from UFO , is a delight in a comedy role.

Review Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969)

And now for something completely different...you either love or hate this I suppose. My liking of this probably moulded the type of humour I like for evermore. This is one of my favourite sketches.

    Review The Omega Factor

This is a ten part BBC series, with Louise Jameson and James Hazeldine as Anne Reynolds and Tom Crane working for Dept 7 researching psychic powers and paranormal phenomenon. Mary Whitehouse, bless her, called this series thoroughly evil. EPISODE GUIDE BELOW

    Review IDEAL

This was a very " on the edge" comedy. Some very nasty characters drug dealing, no one is particularly nice in this. However it's compelling viewing once you get into it and very funny in parts. Johnny Vegas is excellent and who can forget Cartoonhead !

Review Curse Of The Demon (1957)

This film , a.k.a. Night of the Demon, scared me when I first saw it,but I was only about twelve at the time. The movie that Kate Bush signalled in one of her big hits. Shockingly I can't remember the song,! It's the one where she sings " it's coming, through the trees", or something similar.

    Review Soap (1977)

One of the truly great American sitcoms. So many memorable characters, Chester, Chuck and Bob, Jodie, Jessica,Burt , Danny and of course Benson.

    Review The Thick Of It

What can you say about this amazing show. A political masterpiece with Peter Capaldi incredible as Malcom Tucker. Capaldi's best work by far ,and i include Dr Who . He is very good in Who but his stories suck for the most part, not his fault of course. Capaldi's Tucker allegedly based on Tony...

Review Kolchak: The Night Stalker (1974)

Watching this at present for the first time. Heard great things about this . It's very watchable. Darren McGavin is excellent. The ' monsters ' are unusual and well researched by the writers using legends from ethnic folklore. So not bad at all.

    Review U.F.O. (1970)

Gerry Anderson masterpiece from 1970, his first series with live action rather than supermarionation. So many great ideas here, the fashions make it look a bit dated, but the stories are good so you don't care about the fashions. My favourite episodes; Timelash, Mindbender, Question of...

    Review Dick Turpin (1979)

Anyone remember this classic series? Richard O'Sullivan in the starring role, showing us a different side to his comedy roles in Man About The House. Richard Carpenter created this, to add to his impressive portfolio of shows that include Catweazle and Ghosts of Motley Hall. Guest appearances...

Review The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin

One of my favourite shows of all time. Leonard Rossiter was a genius, in fact the whole cast was superb. The Martin Clunes remake was very poor in my opinion. These guys agree with me; CJ " I didn't get where I am today without knowing which Perrin is better" Tom " I'm not really a Clunes...
