Review Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (2017)

Here's one spoiler - they clearly stated there would be a third. The jokes came fast and furious. Some of them were pretty funny. I wish I'd seen the first one to help gauge your expectations. Fun fact: the guy who invited me showed up late, then left right after the movie ended. How is that...

Review Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (2017)

She was. No Scottish accent or nuthin'. My opinion - the movie was amusing at times but overlong. I only got into it at the end. The last part was genuinely sad, no mean feat for a movie of which I had not seen the original and didn't really know the characters as well.

So he doesn't much like it. I never saw the first one but I'm going to see this tomorrow because a friend asked me. At least Karen Gillian's in the picture (she was a character on one of my favorite shows, "Doctor Who ").

    Review Knock Knock (2017)

I like this one, but not as much as last week's. Again Nardole gets left out of the action, poor guy. I like that the Doctor was able to save the day with reason and compassion. I hate to admit I was a little disappointed that everyone survived. Death is pretty gutsy but NuWho is too tame for...

Review The Works of Fyodor Dostoevski

I have The Brothers Karamazov but I just need to get through it, me with my limited attention span. I do love Crime and Punishment, and when I was younger and more religious I liked Notes from Underground.

Donna: I'm in my wedding dress. It doesn't have pockets! Who has pockets, have you ever seen a bride with pockets?! When I went to my fitting at Chez Alison, the one thing I forgot to say is "Give me POCKETS!" -THE RUNAWAY BRIDE

Fun AMUSEMENT - DOCTOR WHO Quotations

Doctor: Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life. An unimportant life. A life without privilege. The boy who died on the river, that boy's value is your value. That's what defines an age. That's what defines a species. - THIN ICE

    Review Classic Doctor Who

Yeah, you have to get a cable plan with BBCA. That's how I watch it. I'd love to get rid of cable but, aside from Amazon Prime (which makes you pay an additional $20 on top of the $99 fee) I don't know how. :emoji_disappointed:

    Controversial Politics

That's unfettered capitalism for you. I won't buy it either (I don't like the idea of bottled water in general) but plenty of people don't care unless it affects them.

    Review The Aztecs (1964)

That was the first Doctor Who serial I ever saw, and I knew I was going to like this program. An educational historical (sadly there are no more of these) with an engaging story, and you didn't even have to know the characters beforehand to care about them. My only beef with the story is Ian's...

Review I want to BE River Song when I grow up and other timey whimey Doc. Who things!

River Song is one of my favorite characters by the way. If you have dibs on being her, I'd want to be the friend that tags along. I'm timid by nature, but she could coax out some self-confidence I'm sure.

It's what I lose I'm concerned with more than what I get. But if you could put a price on love - $50,000 a pop.
