Fun Anyone else like sitting next to a nice fire?

Perhaps you're right. My head might not be filled with useless knowledge.:emoji_champagne_glass: Remember, remember, the fifth of November... Sounds good to me. I love me some good cider!

Fun Anyone else like sitting next to a nice fire?

For s'mores, you take two graham crackers and a piece of chocolate, and set them aside. Then, you roast a marshmallow. When it is at your desired toastiness, you take one graham cracker and the chocolate, lay the marshmallow on it, then grab the other cracker and press it together and pull the...

    Fun Just... Comics

I suddenly remembered another story from a horror comic. It was about a young aristocrat who got a yearly stipend. It was finally decided that he would get paid his weight in gold, so he decided to gorge himself to gain more weight. He went from a buff young man to a very heavy person. The time...

    Fun The STAR WARS Franchise

With Disney owning both Marvel and Lucasfilm, it only makes sense that Marvel would take over publishing duties on the comic books. With the last few decades worth of stories being relegated to Legends, the new batch of comics are all now canon, and will coincide with the movies and TV series...

    Fun Your Last Meal...

Right now we're waiting for a pan of tater tot casserole to finish cooking. But a friend of mine went this week to his son's graduation from culinary school, where he said they had egg rolls stuffed with Philly steak. That just sounds incredible!

Fun Guys if you could spend the night

Scar Jo or Kate. Madam, I have had my share of fun with a hot dog, but nowhere near the kind of fun I could have with these young ladies. I can't play cribbage with a hot dog.

    Fun Burgers!

I dunno. That first burger with the cow juice running out looks pretty damned tasty to me. But I also eat my steak half raw, so I might not be the best judge. Still, sopping up cow juice with a piece of bread and butter at the end of a meal? Delicious!

    Fun Just... Comics

Again, that's why I liked the fact that my favorite franchises did well in comics, but I got frustrated reading them because so much of it would be retconned with every new movie/series. Star Wars and Star Trek, while having great writers and some really good stories, would set things up, just...

    Fun Just... Comics

Always glad to help out. I know I mentioned it in one of the Star Trek threads, but there was the 20th anniversary issue of DC's Star Trek run where the young Kirk & crew meet the older versions of themselves. Great story, but released before The Voyage Home was released, and so the crew was...

    Fun Burgers!

I'll take a hamburger any way you make it. If were simply grilling, then medium rare, ketchup, mustard, and an onion slice fresh from the grill (if you've never grilled onion, you don't know, man, you just don't know). But I love just about anything you can put on a burger. There's a restaurant...

    Fun Your Dream Vacation?

This is where my dream vacation would be. I love the smell of four color books in the morning. It smells like victory. Promise me there will be limoncello!

Review Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

Oh, how I wish I had seen this! It sounds incredible! And as for strong drink, I imagine the mix of Shakespeare and Japan would be a caustic blend where mead is made with sake. Which may or may not be either drunk or used as a cleanser.

    Fun Just... Comics

Update: They had a few issues of Baron Weirwulf, but not the one you were looking for, and I wasn't paying $20 a pop for the others. I did find some other Charleton horror comics in a $2 box, and they were buy one get one free. So score there. And talk about temptation! They had a Marvel Star...

Review Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

I have much to search for now. I have seen Tennant's version (I recorded it off of PBS), and loved him in the role. I also liked Sir Patrick as Claudius. Well acted, and the idea behind it was brilliant. I have long wanted to stage my own take on the play, where it's set in feudal Japan. Alas...

Review Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

I've seen both, but prefer the 4 hour version, as Hamlet is my favorite Shakespeare play. For acting ability, I do like Zeffirelli's version, but it's like the Cliff's Notes version of the play.

    Review The Crow (1994)

Gee, not to sound like that grumpy old nerd, but comic book movies shouldn't be made by people who haven't read the comic books and don't get them!!!! I dunno. If done right, this could be a great film. But every time I hear news about it, it feels like no one involved gets why the comic was...

Review Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

Um, wow. Again, no hope for the future of our species. David Suchet is Poirot. Another Christie fan here, and I love his performance in the stories. And as much as I love Branagh, I don't know if he can pull this off. But he did do Hamlet justice, so maybe I'll be proven wrong. Also, can I...

    Review The Crow (1994)

I had read some of the comics and loved them, so when the movie was released I went and bought the graphic novel and loved it. I passed it along to all of my friends, and we eagerly awaited this film. Needless to say, the movie did not disappoint. It perfectly captured not only the gothic sense...
