Caplan Joins “Das Boot” Sequel Series Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex”) and August Wittgenstein (“The Crown”) will join Rick Okon (“Tatort”) in cable broadcaster Sky’s $28 million event series sequel to the 1981 film classic “Das Boot” and its source novel by Lothar-Gunther Buchheim. German filmmaker Andreas Prochaska helms all eight episodes of the series which will pick up the World War II story in the fall of 1942 and follow the war at sea as seen through the eyes of the young U-boat crew, and events on land, and the French Resistance. Okon will captain the U-612 U-boat in the series which is in the midst of a 104-day shoot in La Rochelle, Prague, Malta and Munich. Vicky Krieps, Jonathan Zaccai, Leonard Scheicher, Robert Stadlober, Franz Dinda and Stefan Konarske also star. Sonar Entertainment, Sky, and Bavaria Fernsehproduktion are producing the new “Das Boot” which launches on Sky next fall.
