Sarandon, Neill & More Join “Silent Heart”
Susan Sarandon will replace Diane Keaton in the Roger Michell-directed English-language remake of Bille August’s 2014 Danish drama film “Silent Heart” at Millennium Films.
Previously titled “Blackbird,” the new take also stars Kate Winslet, Mia Wasikowska, Sam Neill, Rainn Wilson, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Lindsay Duncan and Anson Boon.
The original film’s scribe Christian Thorpe penned the U.S. adaptation with the story set over the course of one weekend and follows Lily (Sarandon), a terminally ill mother who brings her daughters (Winslet and Wasikowska), and their families, together for one last family gathering before she commits suicide.
Filming is slated to begin next week in the United Kingdom with Sherryl Clark and David Bernardi producing.
