20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have announced unique plans for three films based on “Goosebumps” author R.L. Stine’s book series “Fear Street”.

Kicking off before “Goosebumps,” the “Fear Street” books are set in a ficitional Ohio town in the 1980s & 1990s and aimed at older teens and are markedly adult and more violent than the “Goosebumps” books.

Rising horror director Leigh Janiak (“Honeymoon”) has been hired to rewrite the scripts for and to direct all three films back-to-back-to-back with the distributor intending to release each one just one month apart from each other in what’s been dubbed a “bingeing movies” model.

Janiak is reportedly already doing is overseeing a writers room of sorts to coordinate the penning of stories that take place in different time periods.

Kyle Killen penned the first which Janiak and Phil Graziadei will now re-write. Zak Olkewicz is working on the second script, Silka Luisa is working on the third.
