Trailer: John Woo’s “Manhunt”
The first trailer has been released for action movie maestro John Woo’s return to the Asian cop thriller genre with “Manhunt”.
A remake of a classic 1976 Japanese action film, Chinese actor Zhang Hanyu stars as a prosecutor who is wrongfully framed for robbery, rape, and murder and attempts to clear his name.
Japanese heartthrob Masaharu Fukuyama co-stars as the police detective on the hunt for him. Chinese actress Qi Wei and Korean actress Ha Ji Won co-star.
Woo made his name on the likes of similar films such as “Hard Boiled” and “The Killer” and this return to the fold will have its world premiere at the upcoming Venice and Toronto Film Festivals ahead of a Chinese release in February.
