Trailer: Jones, Freeman Are “Just Getting Started”
Back in the 1980s and 1990s, filmmaker Ron Shelton had some big success stories with the likes of “Bull Durham,” “White Men Can’t Jump,” “Tin Cup,” the underrated “Dark Blue,” and the scripts for the likes of “Bad Boys II” and “The Great White Hype”.
Then came the Harrison Ford-Josh Hartnett flop-tacular “Hollywood Homicide” in 2003 and Shelton effectively disappeared from filmmaking, popping up only briefly six years ago with the telemovie “Hound Dogs”.
Now, finally, he returns to the big screen with the comedy “Just Getting Started” and has scored an impressive cast including Tommy Lee Jones, Morgan Freeman and Rene Russo. The first trailer for the film has now debuted below.
Previously titled “Villa Capri,” the story follows a manager (Freeman) of a luxury Palm Springs retirement community who comedically clashes with a new and former military officer resident (Lee Jones). At the same time the regional director of the retirement home begins to smell something fishy going on.
“Just Getting Started” opens on December 8th.
