Big fan of her from the late seventies. An amazing voice, plus a truly weird fashion style, only had five albums out in thirty or so years. I was so pleased to discover only last year her mid -noughties cd " Shadows and Dust", which had an amazing song about Dracula called Insect Eater.
" Earwigs in my fridge at midnight put me in a dancing mood" Indeed....me too!
Bird Song from the early eighties highlights her bizarre style more than most.

Back in 79, or possibly early 1980 but no later, I inexplicably found a copy of the 7" single for Lucky Number in the drawer where my parents kept their small handful of LPs - probably wedged somewhere between The Best of Tom Jones and Kamahl Live At The Sydney Opera House. Nobody admitted to seeing it before or could tell me how it got there ... kinda like the book in The Babadook now that I think of it.

While the music didn't really grab me back then, it wasn't long before Stiff Records' catalogue would play a part in forming and developing my musical tastes.
